Premier Closet Company & Expert Closet Design Services in Steamboat Springs

Look for a closet company with proven experience, thoughtful design, quality products, professional installation, and a strong local reputation. With 20 years in the closet industry, Mountain Sky has encountered just about every storage challenge imaginable. A skilled closet designer should be able to maximize functionality, even in difficult or unusual spaces.

Mountain Sky Closets has been locally owned and operated in Steamboat Springs for 20 years. We understand mountain living because we live it too. Our closet design company knows firsthand the challenge of storing everything from skis and snowmobile gear to bikes, rafts, and camping equipment! We invest in an experienced, professional installation team that takes pride in quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Every project is a little different, and our closet design process depends on where you’re at in the planning process. We typically start with a complimentary consultation to learn about your space, storage needs, style, and any problems you’re looking to solve. From there, we’ll take measurements and create a custom closet system for your review.

For new construction and remodels, we can start designing from architectural plans before the space even exists. Since many of our clients aren’t in Steamboat Springs full-time, we’re also happy to provide virtual consultations and design reviews.

The sooner, the better. Involving us early gives us time to coordinate with your builder and other trades and think through details like electrical, home automation, floor and wall vents, wall depths, and door and window trim. By planning ahead, our closet designers can create a more functional space rather than designing around decisions that have already been made.

We can design around a wide range of styles, from rustic mountain homes to contemporary spaces and everything in between. We offer woodgrain and solid-color finishes, velvety matte textures, wood and glass doors, specialty hardware, integrated lighting, and unique materials like recycled leather and textured fabric. We can also mix colors, finishes, and materials to create a closet system that is completely unique to your home.

Mountain Sky primarily serves Steamboat Springs and surrounding Northwest Colorado communities, including Oak Creek, Stagecoach, Clark, Hayden, and Craig. For larger projects, we may travel outside of these areas. Reach out with your project location and we’ll let you know how our closet designers can help.

Absolutely! In addition to closets, Mountain Sky designs custom storage for garages, mudrooms, laundry rooms, pantries, home offices, home gyms, entertainment centers, wine rooms, mechanical rooms, and more. While we don’t design full kitchens or bathrooms, we can provide storage solutions within those spaces as part of a larger project.

Our closet designers regularly work with builders, contractors, interior designers, property managers, and owners’ representatives throughout new construction and remodel projects. We coordinate scheduling and installation with the project team and work with electricians, drywallers, trim carpenters, and other trades when needed.
