COMMERCIAL GRADE EPOXY GARAGE FLOOR COATINGS IN STEAMBOAT SPRINGS
From storage space to social space–It all starts with the floor! Our epoxy floor coatings are functional and provide a finished look to your garage.
At Mountain Sky Closets and Garages, we specialize in transforming ordinary concrete floors into durable, high-performance surfaces with our premium epoxy flooring solutions. Our epoxy garage floor coatings in Steamboat Springs are built to last and covered by our lifetime guarantee. We start by grinding the concrete surface down to the aggregate to make sure we achieve the strongest bond possible to the epoxy. This process—as well as the quality of the materials we use—is what makes the difference between a commercial-grade floor that will last and a painted-on, sparsely flaked coating that will start to chip and peel within the first year.
Whether you’re looking to upgrade your garage, basement, or workspace, our expertly installed epoxy coatings provide a sleek, easy-to-clean finish that stands up to daily wear and tear. With a range of colors and styles to choose from, we combine functionality with style to give your space a polished, long-lasting upgrade.

The products and processes we use to install our epoxy garage floor coatings are different from the others in the region. Our competitors acid wash the floor and then put on a two-part latex epoxy coating. Acid washing does not adequately remove oil stains or prepare the garage flooring to bond well with epoxies. We used this process a decade ago but got away from it as it failed to hold up to the harsh winter road materials in our area.
We grind down the concrete floor to remove any imperfections or stains using an 800-pound grinder with three diamond wheels.
After the surface has been prepared, a high-quality epoxy base coat is applied. Polymer flakes are then liberally distributed into the base coat. Adding flakes to your floors not only gives them a unique and attractive look, but it also gives the floor a slight texture, making it slip-resistant.
On the final installation day, we apply a poly topcoat to seal the base coat and flakes. This provides a durable, strong surface that will not peel, chip, or scratch.

A: Our epoxy floors are incredibly durable. They can sustain a lot of wear and are resistant to many solvents and other chemicals, making them great for workshops. To keep your epoxy floor in good shape however, we recommend that you don’t park cars with studded tires or equipment with chains on it.
A: Within 24 hours of the final coat, you can walk on your garage floor. However, it’s important to wait 72 hours before driving on it or moving heavy items like refrigerators and work benches back into the garage.
A: Depending on the size of the floor, installation is typically a 2-3 day process. We aim to grind and epoxy on day one, and then poly on the final day.
