Mountain Sky Closets & Garages is the leading provider of customized storage and cabinet solutions for garages, closets, mudrooms, laundry rooms, home offices, and kitchen pantries in Steamboat Springs, CO. In the warmer months, April – October, we offer epoxy floor coatings for garages and commercial spaces. Role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Epoxy Floor Installer to oversee and manage flooring installation projects. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team, have attention to detail, and can ensure all installations meet high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. While previous epoxy experience would be great, we are open to candidates that have strong communication and leadership skills and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of installers in the successful completion of epoxy flooring projects.
- Prepare substrates for epoxy installation, ensuring proper surface preparation and cleaning.
- Apply epoxy coatings, primers, and sealers in a timely and neat manner.
- Inspect and troubleshoot any issues during installation to ensure a smooth, durable finish.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager, giving updates on projects, anticipating issues, and addressing problems.
- Maintain and manage installation tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in working order. Keep the trailer neat and orderly.
- Train and mentor junior installers to improve skills and productivity.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional communication with clients.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
- Capable of standing, kneeling, and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Own a truck with the capacity to tow a heavy epoxy trailer, with the ability to safely hook up, drive, and park the trailer.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency are consistently met.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, reflecting our commitment to professionalism and clear, timely communication with clients.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to bring constructive solutions to management.
- If no prior experience, a willingness to learn and master epoxy floor coating.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic carpentry skills to help occasionally with closet installs
- Previous epoxy experience
Job Type:
- Full-time, seasonal April – October *
Schedule:
- 10-hour shift
- Monday to Thursday
- Some overtime may be required
Supplemental Pay:
- Truck/gas stipend for using vehicle for company projects
