Complete Garage Remodel with Custom Cabinet Installation

As the weather warms up, we start to get a lot more calls for garage cabinet installations. It’s not just “spring cleaning” that gets folks inspired to redo their garages. Oftentimes, it’s the hassle of the seasonal gear swap—moving skis, snowblowers, and winter equipment out to make space for bikes and camping gear—that brings to light just how inefficient their current storage system really is.

Recently, we completed an overhaul on a garage that functions as our client’s workspace, game room, and storage space. Like most of us in the Yampa Valley, this client had a lot of recreational gear they needed to store neatly to keep it in good shape. But in addition to being functional, the client also wanted the garage to look like a put-together, organized space—not just a dumping ground for equipment.

We installed custom garage cabinetry as well as an epoxy garage floor coating to not only give this garage much-needed storage, but also to transform it into a stylish extension of the home.

Garage Cabinet Installations: Why Custom Design Matters

Richman Garage

Rarely do we walk into a garage where we can fully maximize the storage space using standard-sized materials. Electrical and other access panels, refrigerators, windows, beams, and other structural elements underscore the importance of opting for a custom design. This recent project demonstrated that clearly. We had to craft the layout to fit around windows, HVAC infrastructure, and plumbing, but the result is a stunning design that fully utilizes the space.

Garage Remodel: Features and Finishes

This project features garage cabinet installation in our most popular Slate color. We used large floor-to-ceiling cabinets where possible, as well as smaller upper and lower cabinets.

We added our top-of-the-line butcher block countertops on the benches to give the space a polished look that transforms this garage from just a storage area into a social space.

We completed the design by installing slatwall throughout the garage. Slatwall is our go-to hack for expanding storage capacity in tight spaces. We added baskets and other accessories throughout, along with hooks for storing fishing rods, skis, and other gear.

The Finishing Touch: Epoxy Garage Floor Coating

Our epoxy floor coatings truly put the finishing touch on a garage remodel. These sleek and durable surfaces cover years of oil stains and cracks, giving the old concrete a new lease on life. They’re also non-porous and stain-resistant, which helps keep your floor looking new for years to come.
